A motorcycle safari in Tanzania offers a completely different way to explore the African wilderness. Instead of travelling in a safari vehicle, riders follow remote dirt tracks through wildlife areas, mountain landscapes and traditional Maasai lands.
Guided by experienced local experts, these motorcycle tours take you far beyond the classic safari routes. Riding through Tanzania’s vast landscapes allows travellers to experience the country in a more adventurous and immersive way while still encountering wildlife and spectacular scenery along the journey.
For adventure travellers looking for a unique alternative to a traditional safari, motorcycle travel offers one of the most exciting ways to explore Africa.
Our motorcycle tours explore some of the most spectacular regions in northern Tanzania Tanzania. Many routes take riders through the remote landscapes surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, and the plains stretching toward Lake Natron and the greater Tarangire ecosystem.
Other routes pass through the wild landscapes near Mkomazi National Park, Lake Eyasi and the remote wilderness of West Kilimanjaro, where riders experience some of the most scenic off-road routes in East Africa.
Each expedition is fully supported by a professional team including guides, mechanics and a support vehicle carrying luggage and camping equipment. Depending on the itinerary, nights can be spent fly camping under the African sky or staying in carefully selected lodges.

A motorbike safari is a unique and adventurous way to explore Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes. It offers an immersive experience, allowing you to get up close with nature while riding through off-the-beaten-path trails and remote areas not accessible by traditional vehicles.
While prior motorbiking experience is beneficial, it’s not always required. Our guided motorbike safaris cater to both experienced riders and beginners. We provide necessary training and safety instructions before the safari begins.
Safety is our top priority. All participants must bring with them quality safety gear, including helmets, gloves, and protective clothing. Our experienced guides are trained to lead the group, and we maintain a reasonable speed for a comfortable and secure experience.
Our motorbike safaris are carefully planned to cover specific routes and areas that offer the best wildlife encounters and scenic beauty. Whilst motorbikes are not allowed inside the national parks they are allowed in the wildlife management areas, our choice of route includes epic rides in one or more wildlife management areas.
We provide well-maintained and reliable off-road Honda CRF 250 and XR 400 suitable for the terrain.
Yes, for added safety and convenience, a support vehicle accompanies the group throughout the safari. It carries essential equipment, supplies, and provides assistance if needed.
To ensure a personalized experience and safety, our motorbike safaris usually have small group sizes of 1 -6 riders. This allows better interaction with the guide and a closer connection with nature.
Packing essentials include comfortable riding gear, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a camera to capture the incredible moments.
Absolutely! We offer customizable itineraries that can include a motorbike safari along with other activities like traditional safaris, cultural tours, or beach vacations in Zanzibar.
During the dry season, which typically runs from June to October, you can expect clear skies and minimal rainfall. This makes it an excellent time for motorbike safaris as the roads and trails are generally dry and easy to navigate. The vegetation is also less dense, allowing for better wildlife visibility. Contrary to what you might think, the wet season, which spans from November to May, can also be an exciting time for motorbike safaris. While there may be occasional showers and the landscape might appear greener and more lush, this season brings its own set of unique experiences.
Be prepared for some muddy and challenging terrain during the wet season, especially in remote areas.
Whether you choose to explore Tanzania on a motorbike during the dry season or embrace the lushness of the wet season, you’re in for an unforgettable adventure. The choice between these two seasons depends on your preferences and what kind of wildlife experiences you seek. Whichever season you opt for, Tanzania’s stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife await your discovery.
Yasin is an excellent driver and a very experienced guide, who dicovers even the ear of a lion hiding in the grass in a distance of 50 meters. So we have been lucky to see a lot of animals. Therefore our Safari was an awesome experience. We also received lots of information about the animals, the National Parks, the country of Tansania and the people living there. Since he is very humorous guy, we had a lot of fun, too. Thanks Yasin for a very special and fantastic time.
Can’t recommend Yasin highly enough. Endlessly informative with an almost sixth sense of where the animals are likely to be. Also a funny and ever positive travelling companion who contributed much to a family holiday of a lifetime.
We had a three-day safari with Yasin. Yasin gave us a very warm welcome right from the start and made us feel very familiar and friendly. It didn’t feel like a tour with a guide. We felt that we were in good hands and were able to enjoy the safari. We particularly liked the fact that Yasin always involved us in everything. For example, we were able to decide when our day began or ended. Yasin was able to tell us a lot about the wildlife, but also about the culture and the country. He was in constant contact with his colleagues, which gave us a good opportunity to see the BIG5. The moment of our engagement was very special for us. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again, dear Yasin. Thank you for your support and the great picnic spot. You were so well prepared, always took care of everything and made our dream come true. We will never forget these moments and we will never forget you. Stay healthy and as cheerful as we got to know you. Kind regards from Bremen (Germany) Jessica & Brian
Vielen vielen Dank
My family and I were so lucky that we had Hussein as our guide! He were really passionate about his work, which resulted in us learning so much about the nature we went to, seeing a lot of different animals meanwhile having a truly comfy trip where you felt safe all the timeâ˜ºï¸ I will truly recommend Hussein as a guide for your wildlife adventure ðŸ€
We spend ten days with Yasin in the Serengeti, Taranguire and Ngorongoro Crater. Yasin, our guide, was always optimally prepared and also discovered the animals that were well hidden. He kept the necessary distance and always showed consideration for the animals. We felt safe and in good hands. Thanks to Yasin we experienced a unique Safaritour that we will never forget.
