10 Days – Ultimate Walking Safari

Day 1: JRO – Amini Maasai Lodge, West Kilimanjaro

Upon your arrival at the airport, one of our guides will already be at the airport waiting to greet you and welcome you to the country before taking you to Amini Maasai Lodge, an hour and 15-minute drive from the airport. You will check in and rest from your long journey to Tanzania.

• Overnight at Amini Masai Lodge, West Kilimanjaro.

Day 2: Kitenden Ranger Post – Lekishoko Wild Campsite

A healthy breakfast will be taken at the lodge where you will also be briefed of the day ahead by our guide before we are ready to drive to Kitenden Ranger post, where your adventurous walking safari will begin. The first stage of the walking tour borders the Kilimanjaro National Park. Your will be provided with packed lunches and get to meet your friendly armed ranger who will brief you a little on safety precautions before embarking on the journey from the post to Lekishoko Wild Campsite. This campsite is non-established that hides itself within untouched wilderness. You will be welcomed to the campsite by our driver, chef, and tent boy. The camp boasts an exquisite view of Mount Kilimanjaro when the sky is clear. You will spend a starry night at Lekishoko Wild Campsite.

• Activity: Transfer, Walking Safari short day walking tour through Woodland and Brush.
• Approx. hrs.: 3-4 hrs walking.
• Overnight at Lekishoko Wild campsite (special campsite).

Day 3: Lekishoko Wild Campsite – Chui Campsite Sinya

At the break of dawn, after being served breakfast and are ready for the next part of the journey, you will set of into the wilderness by foot from the campsite into the cascading hills and scenic views of Amboseli and Sinya areas. These woodlands are packed with nature’s most majestic creatures hiding in the shades of green and mustard grass and trees. As you journey further into the lower parts of the savannah, you will stop for lunch where you can enjoy it surrounded by wildlife. Your next stop will be at Chui Campsite, an established campsite, at around 17:00 hrs. You will find that our team has already moved to the area with your luggage and dinner already starting to smell wonderfully. This journey is approximated to be a 27 – 30 km walk.

• Activity: Walking safari through undulating hills and breathtaking scenery, Non established terrain approx. 30 km.
• Approx. hrs.: 8-10 hrs walking.
• Overnight at Chui Established Campsite, Sinya Area.

Day 4: Sinya Area

This day will be spent exploring the Sinya area through the day to regain some energy from the previous day’s walk. Sinya borders Kenya’s Amboseli National Park and boasts some of the oldest elephant bulls, some 50 years and older, that travel with their herd between Tanzania and Kenya in search of green pastures and water. They are said to be the healthiest elephant population in Africa. Other species found in Sinya include the Gerenuk the giraffe-gazelle, the lesser Kudu, oryx, various gazelle species and wildebeest and zebra. Birdwatchers are also in for a treat at Sinya.
Our guide is an expert at showcasing some of the most unique wildlife experiences and knowledge about how they coexist in such a vast but vicious terrain. The scenery is glorious; if you are lucky, you can get to experience a spectacular sunset in the evening and arranging sun downing dinner as an additional activity. You will spend a second night at the established Chui Campsite.

• Activity: Full day walking safari in Sinya – Amboseli Ecosystem in quest of wildlife and mighty Elephants that exist here 10-15 km.

• Overnight at Chui Established Campsite, Sinya Area.

Day 5: Chui Campsite – Corto Wild Camp

A hearty breakfast will be served at the break of dawn before you venture into the African savannah plains. Packed Lunch will be offered by your chef, todays walking is approximately 15 kms of dry grassland, salt plains and pockets of green woodland which Giraffes and the big bold Elephants love. A walk that is filled with a variety of experiences, including meeting some of the Maasai shepherds with their cows grazing in the plains alongside wild animals. These plains are untouched by civilization, and so the journey will exquisitely display untampered nature. Magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and Mt Longido are an extra touch. Our team will be ready once again at Corto Wild Campsite, where a gourmet dinner will be served and a campfire chat for the ones who prefer, followed by much deserved rest.

• Activity: Full day of Exploring the savannah, and salt plains with sparse woodland Approx. 15 Kms
• Approx. hrs.: 6-8 hrs. walking.
• Overnight at Corto Wild Camp.

Day 6: Corto Wild Camp – Nambalaa Wild Camp

Full day exploring the Savannah in total wilderness with no walking trails, accompanied by the wildlife, Masai herdsmen and amazing landscapes approx. 15Kms

• Activity: Full day of Exploring the savannah, flat terrain under the African Sun. Approx. 27 km.
• Approx. hrs.: 7-9 hrs. walking.
• Overnight at Nambalaa Wild Campsite, Nambalaa Area.

Day 7: Nambalaa – Luknyangare Wild Camp

As the dawn breaks your chef will be ready to serve you with a well versed breakfast before your epic journey continues in pursuit of Adventure. Today’s journey is estimated to be 15kms of mixed terrain leading you to Luknyangare wild camp. Our team will welcome you at this new campsite ready for a relaxed evening. Three course gourmet dinner will be served before retiring for dinner and much deserved rest.

• Activity: A full day of Exploring through the mix terrain of sparse woodland and open savannah approx. 15kms
• Approx. hrs.: 7-9 hrs. walking.
• Overnight at Luknyangare Wild Camp.

Day 8: Nambalaa Wild Campsite – Ngasurai Wild Campsite

After breakfast at the break of dawn, your journey will continue, leading you into the plains of Ngasurai. This estimated 15 kms walking journey encompasses an array of exceptionally captivating views and a few rare moments with nature’s wilderness experience. This day also marks the last walking day of our exceptional walking safari tour. Our team will welcome and congratulate you for your accomplished journey at Ngasurai Wild Camps, where you will dine lavishly before you take a much deserved rest.

• Activity: Walking through a mixed terrain with captivating landscapes and plains game approx. 15kms.
• Approx. hrs.: 7-8 hrs. walking.
• Overnight at Ngasurai Wild Campsite.

Day 9: NgasuraiCamp – Amini Maasai Lodge, West Kilimanjaro

An easy day is today. Your breakfast can be taken a little later than usual. After a good bye to your crew, your transfer vehicle will drive you to Amini Masai Lodge approx an hour and half away. You will be able to shower and dip into the pool for a relaxing day after your walking excursion. Dinner will be served at Amini Masai Lodge.

• Activity: Vehicle transfer to Amini Masai Lodge.
• Approx. hrs.: 1.0 driving.
• Overnight at Amini Maasai Lodge, West Kilimanjaro.

Day 10: Amini Maasai Lodge – Airport

Breakfast will be a little later than usual, and you will be able to experience a more relaxing day at the lodge as you wait to be transferred to the airport.

• Activity: Transfer to JRO/ARK Airport.
• Approx. hrs.: 1.0 driving.

  Note: Bright or white colors are not recommended for safaris. Try avoiding blue as it attracts Tsetse flies. Camouflage clothing is strictly illegal in Tanzania try avoiding them so as not to get arrested.
